Where I’m From

I am from Dump trucks,

From Mack and Peterbilt.

                                                             

• loading the dirt and unloading,
• cleaning the truck to make it shine,
• always getting woke up to the loud sound.

I am from the Brick, around the house.

(red, glossed, it smelled like rock.)

• conducted by my father and grandpa,
• gathering brick to set up,
• collaborating together to get it placed right.

I am from Oak trees , Cornrows,

 Tall, broad and straight rows.

                                                

• imaging all the different colored leaves,
• glistening from the sunlight ,
• swaying with the wind.

I'm from farming and slow talking

I'm from the hard working and

• always on time,

and the Lord's prayer i can say on my own.

      fried chicken falling off the bone

           and sweet tea just made.

Reflection on senior year

Looking back now it really seems like the first day of school was just a few days ago, This year has flew by but I couldn´t be happier for myself for the friendships I have made this year and years before. This school has a special place in my heart and I am very thankful for all of my classmates and teachers for helping me this far.

Most people don´t enjoy school, but everyday since football has ended this year I have gotten out of school at 11:35 and went to work. Throughout that time I have realized and understood what my elders and others have told me about how I will miss it. Getting out of school everyday and going to work is not fun, your not with your friends cutting up in class or something. I cherish the memories I have made this year they have been fun, I have enjoyed every bit of my senior year, If I could id go back and try a little harder but oh well. I have enjoyed my last year here at BHS, it has been fun.

I would have to say the most positive thing to me this senior year would have to be my football career, sometime last year I had a thought about quitting football because ¨I didnt like it¨ I would say that a lot, but really I was just tired and did not want to do the hard work. I had some talks and everything and I decided to stay in football, and looking back on it now I am very happy I chose to stick with it, Football has helped me become stronger physically and mentally. I thank my coaches and team members for talking to me and keeping me in the game that I loved, not only for the games but for the friendships and for teaching me self discipline.

To conclude, I would like to thank everyone for one of the Best years at batesville, I cherish every memory made and cannot wait to look back one day and laugh at all of them, this school has a very big place in my hear as well as the teachers and my classmates.

SSB: My Thoughts

Think about getting to play in the dirt your whole life, My grandfather Jerry told me that almost 2 weeks before he passed and ever since then when I work that is all I think about. Therefore to me I do not ever have to work because I often think of it as playing in the dirt.

The senior seminar board helped me in many ways, I have never really gotten up in front of people like that and presented something. At first I was nervous but then I just realized that I needed to just get up there and talk and do my best so I did. I think one thing that I really thought was a positive for me is that I didnt lock up and get nervous during the presentation, I was comfortable and laid back to the point where I could just talk.

I also think another thing that I thought was positive to me was that I maintained good speaking skills and eye contact, I personally have never really been good at that but I was during my presentation. I think the eye contact and good speaking helped my grade out a lot and made people like my presentation.

To conclude I can really say that this presentation and project has helped me for the future and for myself in life. Once I realized that if I just went up there and talked then everything would be fine. I was happy with my presentation and I hope you were, Thank you.

Imagine wanting a journal and your mother buying you one that says diary on it, well for greg heffely that happened. In the last straw Gregs dad wants him to toughen up, and get in sports and Greg does not want too.
In the book dog days Greg is coming upon summer and he has big plans for his summer of sitting inside and playing video games, but his parents have other plans for him, like a Job.
I have to say this is a great book to read and i recommend it and give it a star rating of 4.

Fake news  

The truth in simplest form is a sentence or phrase you tell someone that is the honest most reliable source or saying that can be told, to me that's what truth means. However in our society today we have been caught up in fake news more than anything, fake news is everywhere you look. So the question is, “Why does everyone like fake news?” Is it just that much better than the truth?

How I think of the crucible being a source of fake news is somewhat hard to explain. In the crucible Abigail had an affair with proctor. However Elizabeth, proctor’s wife wants proctor to confront Abigail of fraud. She wants John proctor to make a lie. Sooner or later proctor agrees to sign a confession but he refuses to do so for anyone but himself because he said “all I have is my name”. See fake news keeps everyone on their toes, because everyone wants to see who they can blame for something else. Even the people who really done it just wanted to blame other people just so they would not get hung. Proctor done the right thing. In this world all you have is your name and your name means more than anything. You want people to remember you by your name, Knowing that you are truthful and not a lair.

In today's society we have fake news everywhere, for example just the other day I was looking online and according to https://www.snopes.com/category/facts/fake-news/ , they said donald trump was banning schools to take care of the school shootings. If you ask me that's crazy. Most people believe fake news because that's just what they want to hear and because of the person that is saying the fake news. According to the entertainment web site 8shit.net, President Donald Trump had a more outlandish solution. The site published an article on 23 February that President Trump’s plan to stop school shootings was to ban schools altogether. If someone believes that Trump our president, is going to ban schools to end school shootings they are crazy. However im sure some people have believed this, but in the real world that would not happen. It is just fake news wanting to get people excited and driven for people to read their post.

I have a lot of personal thoughts on fake news, i'm not talking about actual news like stuff, it can be anything that is being told that is fake and not correct information given. One of the biggest reasons I think people like fake news is so that they can hear and laugh at the people telling the fake news. More and more people catch on to the fake news that's given everyday, but what makes it so good? Personally I believe the majority of people just want to hear the fake news, instead of the real correct truth, because who knows the fake news being told can sound better than the truth and that's why people like it, but they need to realize it's doing nothing but making them look bad and get laughed at. The majority of people want to hear fake news over real news because it sounds better than real news, but is it really doing them any good? No. Fake news needs to stop before we start telling to much fake stuff that can lead to real stuff that can help terrorist.

To conclude my information on fake news, out of the three examples I gave, the crucible and fake news, real life and fake news, and my personal thoughts on fake news, I like my personal thoughts the best. Some do not understand what fake news can do to us and some understand it but do it anyways. It can and will hurt our society if we let it get to a bigger problem than it is now, for example it can lead to letting terrorist in on some of our news, even though its fake it could help them. Overall I personally think fake news is told and liked because it is what people want to hear, they just simply don't want hear the truth.

Government shutdown blog post 4

The government shut down is like a big argument being settled by just shutting everything down to me. Yes I think it is helpful, instead of just arguing the whole time and not coming up with a conclusion or an answer it is healthy for our government to just shut down for a few days.

We have had a lot of government shutdowns in the last few months but I do think it is for the better, they haven't been for long but it has resulted in good results.  Most of the reason we have been having government shutdowns are because the people in the White House can't come up with a resolution or solve the problem without an argument or simple agreement on an answer. 

I honestly believe that if we can get them to start agreeing on resolving things easier than they have been without arguments and not agreeing on an answer then we will not have as many government shutdowns. The shutdowns are for the better I think, but I may be wrong. All in all if we can start agreeing on answers then we won't have government shutdowns. 

What is Crohn´s Disease

Crohn´s Disease is A chronic inflammatory bowel disease that affects the lining of the digestive tract.
It causes inflammation of your digestive tract, which can lead to abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss and malnutrition. Almost three weeks ago I was diagnosed with Crohns, there is many symptoms believe me but there are ways to make those symptoms not flame up,

¨Scientists believe that Crohn's disease is caused by a combination of these factors:

• Immune system problems
• Genetics

Environmental factors¨  yes there is more causes, click here to see them all  however the scientist over this disease believe the three biggest causes of crohns are the three above. Yes I would have to agree because my mother has something very similar and I have immune system problems as well. I havent studied all that much on the disease but I can assure that it is not something you want to go through. 

I have many symptoms I do not like but however I handle them, I can control them by watching what I eat. If I eat something bad and my symptoms flame up them I am in pain for about 4-6 days. According the the web page above ¨Lots of people have stomach cramps with diarrhea or constipation. It’s uncomfortable, but you usually get over it and forget about it.¨  I do agree with them because I have went through some of these symptoms and my doctor has said the same thing to me.

Overall, Crohns is not something to mess with, it can lead to colon cancer or to the point where you carry a bag around on your hip. It can be a severe disease if you dont follow the doctors instructions and stay away from the foods that will flame the symptoms up. It is easy to handle if you do what is told and dont eat the foods your supposed to keep away from.

Fake news:Not new

Fake news is like 3 elementary girls, it just causes drama. Fake news is not new i don´t think. I think fake news has been around for longer than we think. i think fake news probably runs back in history before there was phones and social media but now we see it more because of social media.

But what Silverman and others uncovered was a unique marriage between social media algorithms, advertising systems, people prepared to make stuff up to earn some easy cash and an election that gripped a nation and much of the world."   Evidence even shows that fake news has been around for a tremendous amount of time. this is coming from http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-42724320 they have done research on fake news and if it is new or non new, they do however say its new in form. in which they mean social media. 

I do think social media has a big part of fake news, espesially twitter and facebook, literally every other post or tweet is fake news or close to it.  "Fake news was one of the most hotly-debated topics in 2016 and 2017. Websites which deliberately published hoaxes and misleading information popped up across the internet and were often shared on social media to increase their reach. As a result, people in the United States became wary of the information that they read online, with over a quarter stating that they rarely trusted the news that they read on social media."   according to https://www.statista.com/topics/3251/fake-news/ i am right on the social media part of this discussion. 

To conclude, i very well do believe that fake news is not new, however it is newer now than it has been because you can use social media and so many other things for fake news now. I honestly believe fake news runs a long ways back in  history. 

salem witch trials blog post 3

The 1690 Salem witch trials were caused by the moldy rye i believe. i just don´t think there is enough evidence to accuse all of those people, innocent or not of causing the Salem witch trials. However there does seem to be enough evidence to put the moldy rye and the LSD drug as prime causes for the 1690 Salem with trails.
Yes, there was some people confess, but that could´ve been the best answer for that time in 1690. however, did they ever find an actual person with enough evidence to say that he/she was the cause of the 1690 Salem witch trails. They did find enough evidence to bring the LSD drug and the moldy ry substances into effect. To end my post, i find it very hard not to believe the facts that have been discovered recently about the LSD drug and the Moldy rye being the reason of the Salem witch trials. i come to believe that because they are spot on with their documents of data where as they had no final person the could accuse in  the 1690s of the Salem Witch trials. 

The census is what tells us how many people we have in this nation and in each of our states. How ever it is hard to find out exactly how many people we do have if not everyone completes the tasks of filling a census ballet out.

According to NY times ¨For the first time, it will be conducted largely online instead of by mail.¨  They have decided to conduct the census for 2020 online instead of paper. I believe it is a better decision because you have those people that wont fill them out just because they don´t want to go to where ever it is and fill it out. However now though they can do it on their phone or tablet or their laptop now. I honestly think they will get more done by the internet. 

Still according to NY times John H. Thompson “The career staff at the Census Bureau are really, really good and really committed to an accurate count,” he said. “They will do the best job they can for the money and public cooperation they get.”

Still, he added, “There’s an issue with funding, and there’s an issue with operational readiness. And there’s an issue with accuracy.”  He feels as if they will do a good job and not have many problems but their will be some difficulties, but like everything there is difficulties with anything and everything. I honestly think moving it to online is probably the best idea and we will get a better outcome of it being on the internet. 

My one word for 2018

Joy has many explanations and meanings to the one word. Joy can be good and joy can be upsetting but most think of it as joy. i chose joy for my word of 2018, i need to show more joy to people in 2018.

In 2017 i had hardly any joy, i was never happy really and came off in a bad mood most of the time. the meaning of joy is ¨a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. i chose this word because in 2018 i want to show more joy to the world and have more of an impact on peoples lives in 2018. i feel as if i show joy to people then they will have a better day and then they will show joy to others as well.

Back in 2015 i lost my best friend to a car accident, after that wreck i lost all of my trust, all of my joy, and a lot of my happiness. It took me a while to get my trust and happiness back but for some reason i just couldn´t get the joy back in my life that i had before that wreck. So i made a commitment that in 2018 i would get my joy back and show it to others. i want this whole world to have joy and i feel as if i show joy then others will.

In conclusion i chose joy for many reasons, but the one main reason i chose it is because it is something that i need to gain back and start showing more this year. i have a plan to do that and share my joy with others, everywhere. who knows it could change someones day by just saying ¨hi how are you.¨
